HiveTerm ("we", "our", "us") is a desktop application developed and maintained by its creator. This policy explains what data we collect, why, and how we protect it.
When you activate a Pro license, we collect:
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store credit card numbers, bank details, or any payment credentials. Stripe's privacy policy applies to all payment data. See stripe.com/privacy.
Account creation, the start of a Pro trial, and confirmed purchases are recorded by our backend. We use these milestones for advertising measurement through Meta’s Conversions API. Email addresses and internal account identifiers are hashed before sending; available client IP addresses and user agents are sent without hashing. This conversion integration does not send code, terminal output, prompts, or clipboard contents.
Our website (hiveterm.com) is a static site hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may collect standard web server logs (IP address, browser user agent, pages visited) as part of their infrastructure. We use HiMetrica analytics and advertising tags from Meta, Google, X, and Reddit. Meta receives content-view events through its Pixel and our server API, including the page path, client IP address, browser user agent, and available browser/click identifiers (_fbp and _fbc). These cookies can persist for up to 90 days. Our Meta integration respects browser Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control signals on incoming requests.
License data is stored securely in Cloudflare Workers KV, a globally distributed key-value store. License tokens are signed with Ed25519 cryptography and validated offline on your machine. Your license token is cached locally at ~/.hiveterm/license.token.
We share data with service providers for operating HiveTerm and measuring advertising, including:
Meta delivery payloads are cleared from our delivery queue after successful sending. Pending payloads and deduplication IDs are removed after seven days. Hashing identifiers does not make them anonymous.
License activation records are retained for the duration of your subscription plus 30 days after expiration. If you request deletion, we will remove your data within 30 days.
You have the right to:
HiveTerm is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children.
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date. Continued use of HiveTerm after changes constitutes acceptance.
